Obviously, since ShmaRO is an MMORPG, you'll be wondering what we have to offer for you to do with your friends. If that's true, read on.

War of Emperium, Battlegrounds

(Times in GMT +0)

War of Emperium is a guild vs guild battle system in which each guild tries to claim and keep a castle for itself by destroying the emperium located deep within each castle. The battle only lasts an hour, and each castle changes daily, so you have time to rest up before a castle in your possession is contested again. Also, some items don't work in War of Emperium, namely yggdrasil items.

Battlegrounds is a similar system, but with a less organized group of people. Using a random smattering of 10 to 20 people, teams are chosen and divided. They then face off in an arena similar to contesting for War of Emperium castles, only each side has an "emperium" that needs destroyed. The winning team is the one that claims their enemy's base first.

In War of Emperium, the owner of a castle is given access to both the guild dungeon, an area with unique mobs and drops, as well as guild treasures, which have varying drops, some required to make god items. Battlegrounds, too, has a reward system. You gain badges, which can later be turned in for some amazing equipment.

PvP Tournament

The Tournament is a 1-on-1 duelling system, where the winner of each round is re-entered for a chance at the grand prize. And the more you win, the better the prize. But these prizes are only temporary -- you need to stay on the top and keep winning if you cherish them.

The Tournament occurs every day at 6am and 6pm (GMT 0). You can join once the announcement is made, and you'll be warped in on your turn. Or, if you prefer to just watch, feel free to enter and view the duels.

Events

ShmaRO has various events that run throughout the day. Sometimes they happen randomly; other times, a GM may host them. An example of such an event is Russian Roulette, where the last one to dodge a bullet wins. Just listen for the announcements throughout the day to know when and where to go.

For each event, the winner will gain a prize: one event box. These boxes can be sold, or traded, or saved, or given to your friends, or simply open them and find out the surprise inside. To be honest, sometimes the prize will suck. But other times, you'll get an item that can't be gotten any other way.

Endless Tower, Sealed Shrine

ShmaRO also uses a instanced dungeon system. This means that some dungeons, on access, are created uniquely for you and your party. You'll need to overcome the challenges inside without any outside interference, and you only have a set time to do it.

In St. Capitolina Abbey, you'll find the Sealed Shrine, where in a great demon Baphomet is being locked away. Your group will need to go in, find the hero who last died to Baphomet, and follow his instructions carefully to stand any chance against your invincible foe.

There is also a tower that has appeared in Alberta, referred to as Endless Tower. To complete this dungeon, you'll need to climb up 100 or more floors, defeating enemies on the way, until you eventually find Entweihen Crothen. A tricky boss to beat, if you do manage to beat him, you'll be greeted by... a mysterious new foe.

Dead Branch Parties, Group Bosses, Party Levelling

There's many other ways to do things in a group, both built into the game, or with a little ingenuity. For example, you will actually gain more EXP per monster if you level in a party rather than solo. You'll gain more MVP drops overall. Some boss monsters can't even be reached or summoned without a party. On maps where a boss monster is located, PvP is enabled, so best to be sure you're prepared. You'll have an easier time reaching areas and strategizing with a full team on your side.

And of course, everyone loves a good dead branch party.
